Ideal to visit early morning when the first rays of the sun kiss Mt.Kanchenjunga and give it a golden colour. To visit the hill, one needs to get up and 3 am in the morning. You can taste some excellent tea on your way to the hill, which will provide much needed warmth on cold Darjeeling mornings.You can see a full panoramic view from outside, feeling the sunrise and magic lightening on Mt.Kanchanjunga. The tip of Mt. Everest can also been seen on clear days. Senchal Lake is the water reservoir of the town.
It shares the premise with HMI . It is refreshing well laid out high altitude wild life park. IT has a good collection of animals, birds found in the Himalayan region. It is home for Siberian Tiger, Himalayan Black Bear and a breeding center for Redpanda and Snow leopard.

This impressing building is a part of a grid of around 30 pagodas spanning the whole globe. Constructed by the Japanese Buddhist Nipponzan-Myohoji Order, the one at Darjeeling was constructed in 1992. A small temple lies alongside. If you are woken up due to the sound drumming in the streets of Darjeeling between 4 and 5am: these are the monks (Theravada) of the Japanese temple having their early morning walk.
Its a beautiful place with small waterfall. The place has got variety of flower landscaped in rocks. Females can get dressed in the local dress and take pictures.
Batasia Loop in Darjeeling is basically a place where the legendry toy train makes a 360 degree loop, There is a Gorkha martyr memorial here. There is also a landscape park. It si about 2.5 KMs from Darjeeling Rilway Station and a walk able from Chowrasta. It is a beautiful park with a package of cultural program performed daily during the tourist season and its opening time is 4pm.
Darjeeling ropeway started in 1968 and went through a major upgrade in 1988. Over thge years, it has become one of the key tpourist attractions in Darjeeling.The total round trip Singamari-Takvar, is about 5 kms and takes 40 min. Allow 2 hors from the time your ride starts. Located just below the Railway Station, the beautiful Nepali Stype Dhirdham temple is built on the model of famous Pashupatinath Temple of Kathmandhu, Nepal.
The word JOre means two and pokhari means pond. Jorepokhari is marked by two natural water tanks and a beautiful view of Mt.Kanchanjunga. It is a wonderful landscape hilltop with the view of Darjeeling and Kerseong on the other side and the entire Khanchanjunga range on the other side.Sunrise is a heavenly experience from here. The water tanks are breeding areas for endangered Himalayan salamander. During rainy seasons you can catch glimpse of them.
The Yiga Choling Buddhist monastery at Ghoom was established in 1875 and enshrines the image of Maiteray Buddha or the future Buddha. It has beautiful statues of load Buddha.
The highest railway station in India at 7400 ft, the 130 year old station houses the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Mueseum.

Situated at Lebong road, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute conducts its preliminary courses on rock climbing here. (9am to 5 pm)
The centre was established in 1959 to rehabilitate displace Tibetans who has followed the footsteps of His Holiness Dalai Lama to India. Today, this centre produces excellent carpets, woollen goods and wood carvings.(9am to 5 pm)
The Victoria Falls is a spectacular sight assist cascading boulders from a height of over 100 ft. The picturesque ferro-concreet bridge over the falls was constructed exactly a century ago.
